High School

Grades 9 - 12

Opening  in 2012, our high school will  offer a broad and demanding liberal arts curriculum which culminates in the German Abitur and/or the International Baccalaureate diploma. Features of our future high school program will include:

• the Diploma Program of the International Baccalaureate Organization
• an emphasis on academic excellence
• attention to the personal, social, and intellectual growth of the student
• partnerships with local institutions and individuals for individual and accelerated off-campus study
• opportunities for foreign exchanges and travel
• a commitment to community service
• opportunities for team and individual sports

A student who graduates from the Berlin Metropolitan School will demonstrate the following characteristics:

• an appreciation of the cultures of Germany and throughout the world
• an appreciation of the value of articulate, literate and perceptive expression
• an ability to use technology effectively
• a sense of his/her responsibility toward the community and the world
• scientific awareness
• an appreciation of his/her own creative, artistic, and athletic skills

The school will provide guidance in the selection of colleges and universities worldwide.
